  • Virginia Hatfield, PhD.

    PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR

    Virginia Hatfield received a Doctorate of Philosophy in Anthropology (specializing in Archaeology) in 2006.

    Dr. Hatfield has worked for over three decades in both archaeological research and cultural resource management. She has worked extensively in the Aleutian Islands from Attu Island to Unalaska Island, as well as in Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Indiana, Arizona, and New Mexico. Dr. Hatfield is a member of the Register of Professional Archaeologists, the Society of American Archaeology, and the Alaska Anthropological Association.

  • Kale Bruner, PhD.

    PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR

    Kale Bruner received a Doctorate of Philosophy in Anthropology (specializing in Archaeology) from the University of Kansas in 2019.

    With more than 20 years of experience in archaeology in both academic settings and cultural resource management, Dr. Bruner has worked on a wide range of prehistoric and historic sites in Alaska, California, and on the Great Plains. Dr. Bruner is a member of the Register of Professional Archaeologists, the Society for American Archaeology, and the Alaska Anthropological Association.
